Kante

Transcript-first video editing system

Problem

Editing isn't slowed by creativity. It's slowed by everything around it. Hours of footage to sort. Highlights to find. Feedback scattered across tools. The gap between a strong idea and a clean timeline creates drag, kills momentum, and drives up cost.

Approach

Kante works inside the edit, not around it. It introduces a simple metadata system: Overview, Keep, Tighten, Cut. This changes how editors move through footage and make decisions. Built for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, it handles the first pass while keeping full control in the hands of the editor.

Solution

A workflow layer that brings structure to the timeline. Social Capture surfaces high-impact moments and prepares them for distribution. Smart Markers organize footage with a clear color-coded system across Keep, Tighten, and Cut. Audit and Collab tracks decisions so teams stay aligned without breaking the edit.

Key Ideas

  • 01Precision, Not Guesswork - Tighten and Cut separate refinement from removal. Nothing gets lost by accident
  • 02Built for Real Editors - Designed for Premiere and Resolve workflows, not simplified tools
  • 03Clarity at a Glance - A consistent color system makes complex timelines readable instantly
  • 04Reduce Friction, Not Control - Kante removes the organizational burden so editors can stay in the work
